.

If you have never owned a holiday home before, there are many questions you will have before purchasing a home that is right for you. Here are some frequently asked questions that can assist you in the process...

french property
.
What is the cost of owning a holiday home?
If you are purchasing on one of our parks, the prices we quote include transportation, siting and connection of your home at your chosen destination. To give you an idea, our new homes start at around £21,995.00 ( IRM Titania, 2 bedrooms, centre lounge, fully equipped)
The site fees range from 2200 euros to 3500 euros per year in the Dordogne, Site fees will be slightly higher on coastal parks. Site fees include the maintenance, facilities and running of the park.
What are the additional costs?
With any home you buy there will be running costs to consider. Your Agent in France will make you aware of these costs before you purchase, such as:
Gas - which is purchased by the bottle, available to buy on the Park.
Electricity - is metered you only pay for what you use.
Insurance - like a house or a car, you need your holiday home to be insured. This is easy to obtain and costs around 150 euros per year
Taxe de sejours - as your second home is not classed as a residential dwelling, you do not pay council tax, however a small holiday tax is applicable in France, some parks include this charge in the site fees as a set fee.
How long can my home stay on the site?
Most parks in France offer a yearly contract. As long as your pitch and holiday home is kept in good condition, you pay your rent on time and follow the park regulations, your contract will be renewed each year. Our parks do not have a policy where you are constantly pushed to upgrade. If a holiday home is cared for it can easily last up to  25 years...
What happens if I want to sell?
There are many options in selling your home, Your French Agent can advise and assist you if the sale of your home is necessary.
Can I rent it out?
Each park has its own sub-letting policy, some will do it for you and others are happy for you to do it yourselves. We do have some parks who will only let your friends and family use your home. We will let you know which parks offer this option.
Is this an investment?
Owning a second home will mean that you enjoy endless holidays at your disposal. You are not buying bricks and mortar, therefore the value of your home will not increase over the years. However, owning a holiday home in France offers an amazing new lifestyle, with considerably lower living costs, better weather all in a stress free environment.
Our Agent/we are committed in finding you and your family that perfect overseas retreat, offering excellent value for money and a remarkable new lifestyle..."La Joie de Vivre"

E-Block Re-development

Phase 1 Starting September 2011 to complete by Easter 2012.

Each year we have redeveloped and improved various areas of the park, laying new roads and creating larger pitches. "E" block is more of a challenge and the first phase which has already started, will involve relocating some exisiting caravans before the creation of a level terrace, hlding 17 new bases with a new road and parking bays. The holiday homes will be served by an underground gas tank in lieu of bottles.

There will be landscaping to achieve the bases giving sea views and room for 6ft Sundecks on the front and 5ft down the side. Like C Block before we are looking at a minimum size of 38x12 but we will be able to take wider vans up to 13ft wide as the concrete bases will measure 45ft x 18ft. Holiday homes must be double glazed and central heated and prices will begin from around £35,000.00 upwards.

The terrace banks will be held firm with retaining walls and planting to make it look appealing.

We are already taking orders for this unique opportunity and if you are interested please get in touch by emailing sales@thornwickbay.co.uk

Click on the small images below for larger versions of them and an idea of what the development will look like. Of course our holiday homes will be Green and herringboned towards the sea.

Let our family look after yours...

"We are a family business - big enough to cope, small enough to care, with over 40 years of combined experience in the caravan industry. We value ourselves on the personal family approach and quality skilled workmanship. Our original goal was simple: we believed there was an opportunity to get closer to customers.

Over the last few years, we have sold, repaired and serviced more caravans than we ever expected. This is due to our personal family approach, value for money and quality skilled service. To capitalise on this, Peter Roberts has taken two significant steps.

Firstly, we have made an important commitment to the expansion of our Used Touring Caravan division with the development of a quality indoor showroom. We have also invested in a purpose built repair workshop division offering Insurance Approved Repairs.”

Our extensive selection of quality used touring caravans provide excellent value for money and always live upto expectations.

Each van is supplied by ourselves to the highest standard and comes fully serviced with a 12 month warranty (dependent on age). Finance is available. We also buy caravans for cash.

Buying a Static Caravan
The Process:
Owning a static caravan offers the dream of owning a real ‘home from home’, allowing you to enjoy fantastic holidays with family and friends for many years to come.
However, looking for your static caravan should not be a complicated and daunting task.
To give you a helping hand, we have complied this ‘buyer’s guide’, to assist you with the process.
A static caravan holiday home is a major investment and we would ask you to complete as much research as you can prior to purchasing.
Lifestyle:
Purchasing a static caravan holiday home is a long term lifestyle investment rather than a financial venture from which you would wish to make a return on money. Countless people find static caravan ownership offers a lifetime of family holidays.
.
Park Location:
Consider:
• Travelling time
• Length of visits
• Location to friends and family
• Choice of local attractions.
Your park location will be crucial to the long term enjoyment of your static caravan and needs careful consideration.
It is important to remember that many owners take a large number of short weekend breaks. For this purpose, travelling time will become more important than if you were taking an annual 2 week holiday. Many customers have told us that 2 hours driving is the maximum they would consider for taking short breaks.
You may also wish to think carefully about what the region at large has to offer for your extended visits, such as visitor attractions and outdoor activities.

The Park:
Consider:
• Getting to know the park
• Whether the park is right for you
• What facilities are on offer
• Owner events
• How long is your holiday park open throughout the season
• How long you can site your static caravan.

Once you have decided on your location, you need to find the right holiday park for you.
The very best way to experience a park is to take a day’s sales visit. This will give you a real feel for the park and you will benefit from the sales team being able to show you available plots and the different specifications and layouts of static caravans.
Holiday parks are generally designed to meet the needs of a certain profile of customer. Thus some parks are tailored to meet the needs of families with young children, with excellent facilities including the all important pool, whilst others have a quieter, more relaxed feel that appeals to a very different buyer.
Remember to check how long your park is open for throughout the year as many parks operate a ‘closed season’. A park that closes over the winter may not be a negative thing as it gives the park owner a chance to make improvements and repairs.
Also, check how long you can site your static caravan on the holiday park before it requires replacement or removal, this should be outlined clearly in your contract with the park operator.
.
Running Costs:
As with any major purchase, you need to consider the price and the ongoing running costs such as:
1. Site Fees – These are annual fees and vary by park and pitch. This is normally the main annual cost.
2. Gas – This is normally purchased by the bottle, although some parks operate a bulk system, which is piped via a meter to the caravan and paid for annually.
3. Electricity – normally each caravan is individually metered and paid for annually.
4. Insurance – You will need to insure the value of your static caravan holiday home and its contents. Most parks operate a scheme for this, but prices can now be found easily on the internet. With a copy of proof of insurance handed to the park.
5. General Maintenance – New modern static caravans are extremely well constructed and require little or no internal/external maintenance. Manufacturer warranties on new static caravans are for 12 months from the date of purchase.
6. Remember to include cost of any finance arrangements.
.
Renting / Subletting
Many people choose to subsidise the cost of ownership by subletting their static caravan holiday home. However this MUST be checked out with the park owners/operators, as many parks do not allow subletting. Subletting if allowed can help towards the annual fees and other running costs. Often parks will offer rental services that include booking and maintenance (i.e. cleaning) arrangements for a commission percentage. Remember if you let your static caravan, you will compromise the time you and your family have to use it, so think clearly about your priorities. You may also find wear and tear increases should you rent your static caravan as visitors outside of your friends and family may not treat it with the same respect.
.
Depreciation:
Sited static caravans are susceptible to depreciation in the early years of ownership, as a static caravan is effectively sold as a package with your choice of pitch, (package will include possible extension of the concrete base, delivery, siting, gas cylinders/regulator, TV aerial. The park might include a set of steps or balcony and storage box, also at the discretion of the park, the 1st years pitch fees – either a full year or partial depending on the time of year may be included. Generally holiday parks will offer you fair price, depending on the age and condition for your static caravan should you wish to sell. This offer will be based on the value of the static caravan only. Should you sell privately most holiday park agreements will have restrictions and require a commission to be paid to the park owner (see your park rules).
For this reason we recommend that potential buyers fully research their purchase to ensure they are making the right long term decision.

New or Used:
The some holiday parks may offer a selection of pre-owned static caravans for sale. These caravans offer a lower entry level price than a new static caravan. You need to consider that they will offer a reduced lifespan.
.
The Static Caravan:
There is a wide choice of static caravans available from basic models through to a very high specification luxury example.
Generally this choice will depend on your budget and personal tastes.
If you intend to spend extended periods at your static caravan the specification of lounge, dining, kitchen and bathroom facilities normally become a priority.
When buying a new static caravan you need to be aware there may be a substantial waiting time for delivery if it is manufactured to order.
.
Finance:
Many buyers choose to finance their static caravan holiday home and most parks offer finance arrangements at preferential rates.
.
Location on Park:
Consider:
• What pitches are available
• Annual ‘Site Fee’ costs (these often vary depending on position)
• Proximity to amenities
• Potential noise levels
• Quality of view.
Finally you will need to consider the location of your static caravan on the selected holiday park. Although this is the last stage of the process you still need to research fully.

Remember – always view your plot prior to purchase.

Purchase & License Agreements:
When completing your sale you will be required to sign a purchase / license agreement that formalises your contract with the holiday park owner. It is very important that you read and understand all terms and conditions. As with many consumer contracts a lot of people are put off by small print and simply do not read before signing but it is vital that you understand your responsibilities and those of the park owner.
It is crucial that you read and understand this agreement before signing as it outlines the responsibilities of all parties.
Look out for parks that are members of the main industry trade bodies
1. British Holiday Home and Home Parks Association (BHHPA)
2. National Caravan Council (NNC).
Parks that are members of these bodies should display the information clearly and are encouraged to abide by a voluntary code of conduct to ensure fair terms for buyers in purchase / license agreements.
.
Any information on this site is for general information purposes only and should be check with the Park.

Rare Opportunity 32x12 Plot

Located on

"The Haven" Caravan Park

15a High Street
Burniston
Scarborough
North Yorkshire
YO13 0HH

01723 871178

About the Park

Ideally located in the heart of the picturesque village of Burniston, at the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors and yet only 3miles from Scarboroughs North Bay.

The Haven is a small 52 unit family run static caravan park for private owners only. There are no hire units, and commercial sub letting is not allowed.

All caravans are individually alarmed, and the entrance is controlled by a security barrier, accessed by a chipped fob.

All caravans are sited on 5meter wide concrete bases, and orientated so that all doors and the individual grassed areas face south, maximising the time that patrons can enjoy the English summers.

Each caravan is individually metered for electricity (32amp), and LPG gas, which is provided via an underground pipe network – no bottles to change. All provided for the customers convenience.

There is a well specified launderette on site, which is both centrally heated and double glazed.

We do not provide any other facilities on site, as we believe that patrons should be allowed to enjoy their time at The Haven in peace, and yet have easy access to local facilities, thus supporting the community where we are based.

Within 400 meters of the site entrance you will find 2 public houses and a well stocked local newsagents and post office. We are only 18miles from Whitby, 3miles from the North Bay of Scarborough, and 21miles from Pickering.

At times we have a select number of static caravans for sale, which have been hand picked by the manager, Andrew Backhouse, so you can be sure that each unit available is of the highest standards.

For more information, or to discuss your holiday home requirements, please contact Andrew directly on 01723 871178, or mobile 0778 9698771.

The Haven Caravan Park is open from the 1st of March until the 4th of January, and there are no restrictions on the length of time you may stay within that period.

Visit Yorkshire Tour and Travel Information Destination Guide for England’s largest county.
A sense of history pervades Yorkshire, from the capital city of York with its ancient walls and incomparable minster to the architectural treasures of its stately homes and castles.
Away from the bustle of Yorkshire's premier cities like Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Halifax the timeless rhythm of the magnificent countryside continues.
Yorkshire County contains 1000 square miles of National Parks. Silver and green limestone characterizes the Yorkshire Dales, while England's largest expanse of heather moorland blooms on the North Yorkshire Moors each summer.
The beautiful, peaceful Yorkshire Wolds stretch leisurely from the chalk cliffs at Flamborough on the coast to the Humber Estuary at Hessle. There are some of the most picturesque villages and lively market towns in the country in this area, some well known, some well off the beaten track.
The Yorkshire Coast is an enchanting place to explore at any time of the year and take in popular coastal resorts such as Whitby and picturesque fishing villages like Robin Hood's Bay.

Welcome to England's North East
This region was the northern frontier of the Roman Empire and the heartland of the powerful Kingdom of Northumbria. It was the land most deeply entrenched in the ancient border struggles with Scotland. It is the land of magnificent castles and fortified towers, of war-like Prince Bishops and home to a wonderful World Heritage cathedral. It is the home to the Tyne, the Wear and the Tees, three of England's most widely-famed rivers, each with their own distinct identity, rich industrial heritage and now the home to impressive, stylish and modern cultural developments.
The two historic counties of Northumberland and Durham are a major part of the site and you can explore the history of different towns and localities within these regions. The Northumberland section transports you to pages on Alnwick, Bamburgh, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lindisfarne or Hadrian's Wall, while the County Durham section delivers you to bonny Barnard Castle in Teesdale, Weardale and a whole section of pages featuring the beautiful cathedral City of Durham.
The former Northumberland towns of Newcastle and North Shields are covered in the Tyne and Wear section along with former Durham towns like Sunderland, Gateshead and South Shields. The Tees Valley section includes the old Durham towns of Stockton, Darlington and Hartlepool. Middlesbrough and the Old Cleveland region that were historically in Yorkshire are also included here because of their strong cultural and industrial ties to the North East region.
A major part of this website is the fascinating 'Roots of the Region' section that explores the origins of the region's dialect, place-names and people. Lots of different history themes are also featured in this site with a year-by- year history of the region focusing on the Romans, the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Northumbria, the Norman and Medieval period, the Tudor, Stuart and Georgian era and of course the massive industrial developments of the nineteenth century through to modern times.
If you live in the region you'll enjoy finding out more about the place in which you live, if you don't then hopefully you'll nurture a desire to come along. Go on, give it a go its well worth it. There are lots of wonderful places to see, so come along, enjoy the journey and be inspired.

Welcome to Derbyshire
.
Derbyshire is renowned for being a hugely diverse county with town and city nestled in breathtaking countryside with industry and leisure working hand in hand. The county's premier city is Derby, which although steeped in history, is one of Britain's youngest cities, being awarded its Charter by Her Majesty the Queen in 1977.
Derby has many unique characteristics with a rich mixture of arts, tourism and cultural venues and a pedestrianised city centre, which makes shopping a joy.
The Arboretum in Derby was Britain's first public park; it was opened in 1840 at a time when industrialisation and population increased the demand for public spaces.
Elvaston Castle Country Park, opened over 100 years later in 1970, was also the first of it's kind.
Markeaton Park was originally part of the Markeaton Hall Estate, owned by the Mundy family from 1516.
In 1929, Reverend Clarke Maxwell gave Markeaton Hall and twenty acres of its gardens to the Corporation. In 1930 the remaining 180 acres of the park were bought by the Corporation.
In 1924 several acres of land, near to Kedleston Road, was given to the people of Derby. On this land a children’s playground was constructed - now know as ‘the Mundy Play Centre'.
Markeaton Park was officially opened by the Duke of Kent in June 1931, on the same day as Darley Abbey Park.
The layout of the park has changed very little since its opening, other than the area around the Hall itself. The Hall was demolished in the 1960's and was replaced by a landscaped terrace. The Orangery, now a listed building, still remains. The former stables of Markeaton Hall also remain, and are now home to the Markeaton Craft Village, which was set up in 1987.
Derbyshire can also claim the first national park to be set up in Britain - the Peak National Park which lies at the southern end of the Pennines, between Sheffield and Manchester, it's boundaries also spread into several other counties. The park covers over 500 square miles, three quarters of which lie within Derbyshire itself.
Heading out of the city there is a choice of bustling market towns such as Ashbourne, Bakewell and Chesterfield; and many picturesque villages nestled in unspoilt countryside such as Buxton. Situated in the heart of the Peak District, this beautiful Georgian Spa town boasts the highest market place in the country.

HOLIDAY HOMES ABROAD
SPAIN
FROM ONLY
£25,500.00
Highfield Caravans Ltd are well renowned for excellent services for customers buying a New Mobile Home here in the UK and are now working in collaboration with the leading supply of New Mobile Homes to the Spanish Costa’s.

We realise the concerns that people have, as our Agents in Spain Brice his wife Christine Jennings & their daughters Kirsty & Nikki (Nikki lives out in Spain at Cabopino Park) have first hand experience when they originally bought their own home in Spain. As well as Chris Beevers from Highfield Caravans having lived and worked on the Costa del Sol, helping couples/families relocated from the UK to Spain to either rent/buy a residential/commercial property.

Our Companies are different in approach and the services we provide.

From the initial contact you will be met by one of the most friendly and helpful members of our team who will provide you with any information you require.

We know that location of your home is of paramount importance and we are proud of the parks that we have to offer. It is very simple to see the parks and we provide a service to enable you to see them.

ABOUT OUR AGENTS:
They are a family company with our own Mobile Home in Spain, located on a Residential Style Park.

Originally when they bought their Mobile Home they experienced many difficulties which included:

* Finding a Company that they could trust, with a good after sales service. After making numerous enquiries they resorted to doing it theirselves.
* Finding a Reputable Residential Style Park
* A very limited range of homes to choose from.

After spending a few years of enjoying the unbelievable lifestyle in Spain, they felt that they should put our experiences to good use and form a company to Provide the BEST SERVICE for people looking for a MOBILE HOME or PARK HOME IN SPAIN.

Before Marketing the company to the general public they had to form a good sound base and in the first 18 months researched the following:

MOBILE HOMES AND PARK HOMES FOR SPAIN:

Visited numerous manufacturers in the UK and Spain. Studied build Qualities, design, value for money, reputation and after sales service. Eventually arrived at a range that provided an excellent choice offering beautiful homes from the very affordable to the most exclusive. They currently are approved agents for 10 UK and 3 Spanish manufacturers and continually review the product range to offer the BEST CHOICE in the INDUSTRY.

RESIDENTIAL STYLE and HOLIDAY HOME PARKS IN SPAIN

This was the most time consuming and challenging aspect of the business. Visiting numerous Parks, looking at the standards, facilities, legalities and location. It was essential for them to provide  clients with the best choice of Parks and for every one they added to our portfolio they rejected three.

Originally launched the company with a choice of 8 Parks located mainly in Andalucía.

We are constantly reviewing other Parks to offer our clients to the widest possible choice.

AFTER SALES SERVICE:
By talking to people who already owned a Mobile Home in Spain they found there was a great lack of AFTER SALES SERVICE and to this end realised that THEY MUST BE DIFFERENT.

Numerous enquiries were made which led them to build up a base of experts to fulfil their AFTER SALES SERVICE REQUIREMENTS. There is even a team now that can totally revamp and remodel the interior of a MOBILE HOME.

PRICING POLICY:
Having in total over 100 years experience in the retail industry, they are fully aware that pricing is one of the major aspects affecting Sales.

As a family company they can keep their overheads very low which enables highly competitive prices.

TO SUMMARISE:
Having the Right Mobile/Park Homes on the Right Parks at the Right Price and the Time is Right for you to make your dreams come true.

The Price you get from us includes all  the following:

DESIGNED THEIR OWN PRESTIGE PARK HOME
FOR EL PARAISO PARK IN 2011. THEY ENJOYED A NIGHT OUT WITH COSTA DEL PARADISE
AT THE OPEN WEEKEND IN APRIL ON THE PARK
.

"We always wanted to live in Spain and found the perfect place in Parque El Paraiso.  We were searching the web and came across a family run business professionally managed by the Jennings family. This was the luckiest find we could have had. Brice arranged for us to view the Park with Eduardo.  We fell in love with it at first sight - so peaceful with gorgeous orange and lemon trees, date palms and pomegranites in beautiful red flower.  We were given loads of information to help us make our decision but we never felt under any pressure to buy.  We were shown a range of British and Spanish homes and made our choice in our own time.  Our beautiful home is now on site, we have moved in and feel completely at home there.

Everything was so easy!  Brice, Christine, Kirsty and Nikki are great.  They alleviated all our worries and concerns and quickly responded to any queries we had.  Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, from taking us to Prestige to design our home, to overseeing its transportation to Spain and everything in between.  Even now we are living in Spain, we know that they will be there for us if we need them - more friends than business colleagues.  Eduardo has also been a great help and is there if we need him - his English is impeccable, as are his manners.  Manuel. who owns and lives on the Park, is the perfect gentleman and together with his family made us so welcome.  We wonder how we would have coped without all these new friends and thank our lucky stars that we found them.

So to Brice, Christine, Kirsty and Nikki, to Manuel and his family, to Eduardo, and to Prestige for constructing our dream home,

MUCHAS GRACIAS Y HASTA PRONTO"

PURCHASED A ABI CONISTON AT CABOPINO PARK IN 2011.
WE GOT THERE IN THE END ALAN! SEE YOU IN JULY !
.

"We were interested in purchasing a UK mobile home to site on the Costa del Sol and to use as a family holiday home. After some investigation and having spoken to Kirsty, we decided after an inspection visit to purchase an ABI Coniston and site it at Cabopino Park. Our inspection visit was at the end of November 2010 and we did not see Cabopino Park in its best light however we could see that it was the site for us! It has all the facilities on site we were looking for especially for the grandkids also with the beach close to hand and good accessible public  transport links.Brice, Christine, Kirsty and Nikki made the process straight forward dealing with ABI and all delivery and siting arrangements.
We did have some delivery problems with ABI however the team pulled out all the stops to ensure everything was ready for our first holiday in April. We are especially grateful to Nikki, Andy and his team who worked tirelessly with not much time to site the home and ensure the decking was complete. I would recommend this life to anyone and look forward to a long and happy relationship with them and hope we can all meet on the new decking for drinks in July!"

FELL IN LOVE WITH EL PARAISO PARK.
DESIGNED THEIR OWN HOME WITH PRESTIGE PARK HOMES.
THEY MOVED ONTO THE PARK IN APRIL 2011
.

"When my wife and I decided to look into the idea of moving to Spain to live, we were lucky to find a family run company. We found their website very informative, and when we first met the family, (and i mean family, not a company) we knew our future plans were safe. After a few visiting sites in many areas of Spain, we chose to live at El Paraiso.
Brice made the viewing very low key, and at no time did we feel any pressure to buy.The next step was finding the right home, this was made easy for us, again with help and information from brice and his Family. They arranged visits ( with them) to Prestige Homes to view our parkhome, and helped with any query we had.The whole procedure from start to finish, was conducted in a professional and stress free manner.
We are now into our second month at El Paraiso, and enjoying every day with our new friends."

AT THE OPEN WEEKEND IN APRIL ON THE PARK
.

Hi Brice & Family

Just like to say a big big thank you for your continuous help in my move to Spain. Brice & his family have not just helped in the buying and the sighting of my new home but was there when I need help due to my accident while travelling to Spain. It was like having an extended family.
As I'm a lady on her own you was there when I had any questions and worries.
El Paraiso is the best and Manuel, his family and his workmen have all been pleasant friendly and helpful and I know that in February when I move over permanently they will be there to help in anything if I have problem. I think the park is beautiful and it will be up to all of us to come together and make it a real friendly community. Manuel takes pride in what he does and it is up to us to continue in the same way.
Thank you again for showing me this little piece of Spain and please give my thanks to all your family for all they help and friendliness and knowing that I can call at anytime if I need help and advice.

Thanks and take care

WHO PURCHASED A WILLERBY RIO AT CABOPINO WINTER OF 2010

.

I had been looking to buy a park home in Spain for a couple of years and had spent a lot of time researching the different parks available. I settled on Cabopino because of the close proximity to a safe beach, the amenities on the park. Also, as I had been on holiday in the area many times I was familiar with the excellent restaurants and golf courses near to the park.
My wife and I love the all year round warm climate on the Costa Del Sol (we were sunbathing in early January!) and have met so many  friendly people on the park who made us feel welcome from day 1.
In the short
time we have been 'residents' on Cabopino park I feel that I am an established 'home park boy' and with the help and friendship of Nikki I can foresee a long relationship with the park."

KEN & MARYLIN

WHO PURCHASED A PRESTIGE HOME IN 2010
SILVANO THE DIRECTOR OF PRESTIGE PARK HOMES
CAME TO VIST THEM IN SPAIN
.

“Ken (hubby) and I have lived in Spain for 2 and half years, we retired in 2007 and decided that there must be more to life than rain, grey skies and feeling a foreigner in your own country. We had worked for many years in the health care industry.  We travelled through Portugal and Spain looking for an area to relocate to that was not overly expensive and we would have the opportunity to sample Spanish life.

Last May we decided that we had made the right decision in coming to Spain and decided to upgrade the home we lived in, we had originally purchased a second hand Beverley mobile home that could sleep 4 and this served us well whilst we made up our minds if we had made the right move. Once the decision was made we made enquiries about a bigger more permanent home and made contact with Brice Jennings, this as a family run concern that definitely put the customer first and have a vast knowledge of sites in Spain and the ins and outs of transporting homes from England to Spain. Brice recommended and organised our 2 day visit to Kettering to tour the Prestige Factory, meet Silvano and design our home and choose the furnishings. The design team at Prestige were outstanding and their suggestions and input was vital to ensure a viable finished product, one of our priorities was to increase storage space as we will be living in the home full time.

When the home arrived in Spain on the 20th October we were ecstatic, it was big and beautiful!! It was 5 hours before we could look inside as the efficient team from Whites transport had the job of overseeing and siting the home, such is the  customer care that even the smallest detail was factored in the avoid mistakes, Brice took care of all the details to enable the home to be moved to Spain and the only thing we had to do was transfer the money! The move went without a hitch and arrived in perfect condition. An even bigger surprise was all the "extras" that Prestige had thoughtfully sent with the home, plumbing fittings, wallpaper, coving, skirting boards, etc etc.......... just in case anything needed attention.

Because this was the biggest home on the site the interest was immense, Ken has suggested that we have an open day to satisfy growing curiosity. The comment of 2 of our friends who were the first to visit was magnificent, wonderful, we want one and so it continues.
Thank you to all the Staff at Prestige and Whites transport for the trouble free and perfect home that we now have.”

PAT & OLIVER WHO PURCHASED A HOME
AT CABOPINO PARK IN 2010
.

"We were absolutely delighted the way the sale went through.  The viewing trip went really well. Nikki and your Dad were really nice and what really impressed us was there was no hard sell & pressure put on us and of course you were very efficient in organising things from the UK end. Your company is very professional.  Nothing was a problem.
We will continue to recommend you to our friends or anyone else who is considering making a purchase. Delighted with our sale.  Best move ever.
Thanks to you all".

"We found Lin to be an extremely efficient and friendly member of your staff, nothing was too much trouble for her. She always went the extra mile and helped us so much with not only the sale, but also the extra local information, such as starting a bank account, registering with local authorities, health centre etc and everything to help us to settle in to our new life in Spain, even taking us to the local favorite shops and cheapest supermarket. Thank you for helping us settle so easily into our new life in Spain"

Angela & Paul who bought a home at Cabopino March 2010

" The support from Lin & Wendy throughout the whole process was better than excellent. Viewing was arranged and carried out in a very professional and friendly way. At no time did we feel pressured.  Lin and Wendy answered all our questions and queries honestly, and provided excellent advise on the processes and procedures we would need to go through to buy the property and register as non domicile in Spain. We cannot fault the way we were treated and would not hesitate to recommend there services to our family and friends, or anyone that wanted to talk to us about our experience. Lin and Wendy continue to provide help and advise to us and am very pleased to be able to call them friends."
Dave who bought a home on La Vina in March 2010

"When I decided to buy a Mobile Home in Spain I was fortunate to come across the services provided by Brice and his family to help me. It took all of one day to find my home  with the help of the two ladies Wendy and Lin  who work for Brice out in Spain. From meeting myself and my Daughter at Malaga Airport to showing us around the different parks to introducing us both to the lovely Verna and Alan who run the B & B.
We were both very impressed with the professionalism of Wendy and Lin in as much, as well as showing us the Residential Parks, they also showed us around the local village of Mollina and the beautiful Ardale Lakes.
I would advise anyone thinking of buying a mobile home in Spain , to visit the Parks/area first , it truly is Paradise. Many thanks to Kirsty , Wendy and Lin , for all the care they gave us".

Irene Davies who bought a home at Antequera Park in August 2010

"All gone well so far still settling in, the girls were great and the b&b was superb Alan & Verna are terrific, very comfortable, glad I did not stay in Antequera, too far with no car.  Sale / transfer painless, all seems fine getting to know locals"
Mr Vincelli who bought a home at Antequera Park in August 2010

"We had a good idea of what we wanted. Niki dealt with us from start to finish and there were no problems at all. The after service is excellent Niki keeps in touch and gives very good advice with a smile."
Mr & Mrs Fearn who bought a home at Cabopino Feb 2010

"What a roller-coster! We planned to spend two days looking at the sites and then to view units available on our selected site. We were picked at the airport by kirsty and Nikki, after a very late fight, and taken to our accomadation where we we hosted by Verna and Alan (a truly superb B&B). After a leisurely breakfast we were collected by Wendy & Lin and shown round the sites. We only got as far as La VIna Park and fell in love with the place. A couple of hours later we had discovered our home in the sun, we couldn't get it off the market quick enough. By late afternoon of day two we were celebrating in the Red Lion.
What a fantastic two day voyage, cannot wait to pack and get back there. Thanks to everyone."

Mr & Mrs Kendrick who bought a home on La Vina August 2010

The Brice and the staff on site were attentive, informative and always relaxed in their sales technique. The purchase process was explained fully and assistance forthcoming at all stages. Necessary contacts with the Park administration were expertly and expeditiously handled. Financial transfers were facilitated as appropriate. After-purchase service has been exemplary and included shopping trips for household items needed and local acclimatisation  opportunities.
Personally, I can say that I not only bought a mobile home but also acquired good friends in the process!"

Q & A

Posting Date: Tue, Apr 12th, 2011 12:00:00 am

Listed below are some questions that are frequently asked and hope the answers may be of help to you:

Is the Mobile home park site open all year?
All the sites we operate are open all year.

Can we live there all year?
Yes

What is included in the price?
Everything that is listed on the sales sheet is included unless otherwise stated.

Are there any extras to pay for?
Any extras to be paid will be listed on the park site details page.

What are the site fees?
All details of site fees are shown on the park details page.

What are the costs of the electric, gas and water?
The cost of electric is by meter but works out much cheaper than the UK.
The gas is by gas bottle about £10 and this should last about a fortnight. Water and refuse collection is charged as per park details page.

Is it cheaper to live in Spain than in England?
Much, much cheaper.

Are any other English people living there?
Yes there are quite a large number of English people who live on the site and also English visitors who have their MOBILE HOMES as holiday, retreat or cheap retirement homes.

I cannot speak Spanish, how will I go on?
Most of the people in Spain, on the coast, in the service industries speak English so should not have many problems. Inland areas tend to have less English spoken but is still easy to get by. It does not take long before you pick up the language for those essentials.

Once we have agreed to buy a MOBILE HOME how long will it be before we can move in?
If you are buying a new MOBILE HOME or PARK HOME, the expected delivery date will be told to you at the time of purchase.
If you are buying a re-sale it can sometimes be arranged in literally a few days.

How long can our MOBILE HOME stay on the site in SPAIN.
As long as it is kept in good repair there is no time limit and obviously so long as your payments are made regularly and on time, the site owners will not want to loose good clients.

Will we be able to let out our MOBILE HOME?
Sites do vary on this topic and it is best to check this out prior to purchase. Some parks charge for visitors to your MOBILE HOME, however the aspect of letting out your home can still prove to be a profitable source of income towards your site costs.

What are the advantages of buying a new MOBILE HOME

or PARK HOME in SPAIN?
You will be get exactly what you want, as usually these can be tailored to your exact needs. The extras that you feel necessary will, once again be to your requirements.

It is vitally important that anyone wishing to live on a Residential Style Park in Spain or Portugal in a beautiful Mobile Home or Park Home, that you get a taste of the dream that awaits you.

It is with this in mind, that uniquely designed, tailored made inspection trips have been made. Trips will be design, so that you will only be show you what you want to see, therefore not wasting your valuable time & energy on irrelevant, exhausting, journeys to Residential Style Parks that you wouldn’t like.

Initially we will discuss your, requirements, needs, desires and expectations of your dream Residential Style Park and its location and then we design your inspection trip for YOU.

A great importance is attached to the Inspection Trip service as this gives the client the opportunity to see THE PARKS, THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT when buying a Mobile Home or Park Home abroad.

The Park, it's facilities and location should be the primary consideration as this can determine what size or even what make of home is permitted. There is certainly no problem in finding a home, from our extensive range, that would be suitable.

Sometimes clients arrive with a particular Make and Model in mind. This will have been previously discussed with ourselves and we then arrange to show them the Parks that are available to accommodate their particular home.

There are two levels of Inspection Trips, the difference being the accommodation and meals. The actual visit and level of service is identical.

WE GUARANTEE the visits are COMPLETELY HASSLE FREE.

Clients picked up on arrival at the airport and take them to their hotel.

Depending on the time of arrival and with what the client want to do we act accordingly.

On the second day, the client is picked up in the morning, at a time to suit and take them to the park/s of their choice. During the course of the day coffee breaks are as frequent as wanted. Time permitting you will be show the local villages and towns.

On the Third Day depending on time before the return flight, you can re-visit the park/s if required or visit the local areas. If a client wishes to reserve a plot on a particular park this can quite easily be done. If a client wishes to place an order for a Mobile Home or Park Home, then this too can be quite easily done with an approximate delivery date given. At the end of the visit the client is taken back to the airport for their return flight.

The cost of the trip is as follows:

Superior Visit:-
The visit as above with 2 nights accommodation in a superb 4* Hotel with
Dinner, Bed& Breakfast at a cost of £85.00 per person.

Standard Visit:-
The visit as above with 2 nights accommodation in a 2* / 3* Hotel with
Breakfast at a cost of £55.00 per person.

With regards to viewing the mobile homes or park homes this can be arranged in the following ways

To see the full range of the Park Homes or Mobile Homes which are manufactured in the UK it may be best to view these in the initial stages at the manufacturer’s sites in the UK. We will only be too pleased to assist in this process.

Our aim is for you to have the Mobile home or Park home of your choice on the park of your choice, in Spain or Portugal.

At no time will there be any hard selling techniques nor will there be any pressure placed upon you.

If you are in Spain on Holiday-- you can be picked up from your hotel and taken to see our parks this may entail a small charge for petrol dependant on the length of journey.

RETIRING & LIVING IN SPAIN

Posting Date: Tue, Apr 12th, 2011 12:00:00 am

Once you reach this stage of life it is time to reflect on the past and think of what fantastic possibilities could be waiting for you in Spain.

After years of hard work and worries, surely now is the time to make it YOUR time. Now is the time to fulfil your dreams and live in paradise.

The UK is without a doubt one of the most expensive countries in which to live. Therefore unless you are one of the lucky few, trying to live on a pension proves to be very difficult. Sources of enjoyment can be prohibitive. After years of hard work and worries, surely now is the time to make it YOUR time. Now is the time to fulfil your dreams and live in paradise.
Living in the UK can be prohibitive cost wise and even trying to keep warm in winter can be a challenge. That is why so many people have left England, to live a healthier, happier, affordable, life in Spain.

It is apparent that in the UK, pensioners come at the bottom of the list as far as the government is concerned. If you feel justifiably annoyed, frustrated and taken advantage of, then why not take action, say enough is enough!

Come and join millions of British Residents now enjoying a new life, full of vitality, spirit and affordable living on our Residential Style, Retirement Parks.

HELP IS AT HAND TO CONFORM TO THE LEGALITIES FOR
LIVING IN SPAIN AND THIS CAN BE USUALLY ARRANGED THROUGH THE PARK RECEPTION HOWEVER IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHAT IS ENTAILED WE GIVE DETAILS BELOW:

PENSION RIGHTS
You may well be wondering if you will be able to receive your UK pension when you are in Spain? Well, briefly the answer is YES, but we have provided two official UK Government links for you to have a good read through at your leisure
www.direct.gov.uk
www.thepensionserice.gov.uk

HEALTHCARE
Before moving to Spain you should obtain the new European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
Application forms are available either at the Post Office, or at the UK
Department of Health Website.
A EHIC will cover you for emergency Healthcare treatment in Spain. It is really for tourists, but will ensure that you do not end up having to pay for treatment during your first few months in Spain. It will not cover you for most types of non-urgent treatment, such as, for ongoing conditions.
If you are planning to retire to Spain then you will be entitled to 2 years worth of healthcare, but see THE DEPARTMENT FOR WORKS AND PENSIONS for details.
With the forms you get from the DWP you still need to get register at the offices of the Spanish SEGURIDAD SOCIAL. This process can take some time.
There are many private healthcare schemes in Spain, but please check out what exactly is covered.
The Spanish Healthcare system is very good. Most hospitals are modern and well equipped and the doctors are excellent. The Spanish nurses are welltrained and efficient but do not always carry out personal care and feeding, as this sometimes falls on the family to do. However all hospitals allow one companion to be with the patient 24 hours a day.

Many medicines that are prescription only in the UK are available over the counter in chemists shops in Spain. If you are registered for free healthcare under Spanish social security, you can get medicines you need onprescription for a 60% discount, or for nothing if you are a pensioner.

BANKS
You will be dealing with Euros instead of pounds, but do not worry, one soon becomes used to it. The Spanish Banks are simple to use and will accept credit/debit cards at their ATM's. There are British Banks like Barclays and Halifax etc to be found in some places, but the Spanish Banks are very helpful.

SPEAKING SPANISH
Many people in Spain manage without learning the language, but, you would experience a good inner feeling if you could speak some.
There are many opportunities to grasp the language, including classes or courses and it does not take long just to pick up the basics.

(see the Helpful Transulation Section)

TAKING YOUR CAR TO SPAIN
You can take your car to Spain from the UK, as long as you have owned it for at least 6 months prior to moving. You cannot sell , rent out, or transfer a car that has been imported tax free and duty free for 12 months once in Spain. You must hand in your British registration documents to the DVLA and obtain a certificate of permanent export. The DVLA can advise you on this relatively simple process.
You will need a standardisation certificate (ficha reducida) which can be obtained from any licensed Spanish engineer.
The following taxes must be paid:
1) VAT (IVA) at 16% on a tax free car (on which VAT has not been paid) imported from the UK
2) Registration tax (impuesto sobre circulacion de vehiculos) at 12% on the vehicles current value (based on the original market price in Spain). However you do not need to pay this tax if you are to be a permanent resident in Spain and have imported a vehicle on which you have already paid the VAT. Non-residents, can bring their car from the UK to Spain without paying Spanish taxes, but you can only drive the car in Spain for 6 months in any year -.which is the duration non-residents can remain in the country.
The car must be taxed in the country of registration. The paperwork for
importing a car is easier than it used to be, but many people still hire a
gestor to sort it out for them.

REGISTRATION
Whether you import a car into the country, or buy a car in Spain, you need to register it at the local provincial traffic department (Jefatura de Trafico de Malaga)
If you are a permanent resident in Spain, you must obtain Spanish registration plates once you have imported the car. To do that you will need:-
1) Your residence card and photocopy
2) Current foreign driving license and photocopy
3) Registration number of your Spanish registered vehicle
4) one passport photograph
5) 16.20€, payable at the traffic department. (as of Dec07)

DRIVING LICENCES
You are permitted to drive with a British or EU license in Spain for up to 6 months a year, as a non-resident. But you will need to take it to the local provincial traffic department to be stamped and registered.
If you intend to spend more than 6 months in Spain - and hence are a resident you will need to obtain a Spanish license, with form TASA2.3 from the local provincial traffic department.
You MUST under Spanish Law, carry your driving license with you at all times.

ROAD TAX
All Spanish - registered vehicles must pay road tax. The amount is set by local municipalities and based on the power of the car. It can vary from 20-200€ per year. Malaga is one of the cheapest provinces to tax your car. You must pay your road tax between March and May. Contact your Local Town Hall for all the details.

NIE
Anyone who moves to Spain should apply for a NIE - a tax identification number, when they arrive. The relevant form can be obtained from the local Comisaria or Oficina de Extranjeros.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY FOR A RESIDENCE CARD:-
EU Nationals need:-
1) 3 Passport photos
2) A valid passport and a photocopy
3) A completed application form 037 for EU citizens from your local foreigners office (officiana de Etranjeros)

THE BENEFITS OF MOVING TO SPAIN:

FOOD

Running a home is much cheaper than in the UK
The British people are shocked at the lower cost of living.
The main essentials of food, drink, cigarettes, heating and clothing are
cheaper in Spain. There is a very good selection of supermarkets, even
supplying English items. The Spanish equivalent products can be just as
good but cheaper. Fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are superior and much
cheaper. Meat prices are generally, slightly cheaper and poultry is very
cheap.

EATING OUT
Eating out is very cheap. All types of cuisine are catered for, especially in the tourist parts and cities. Hygiene standards are generally good. People are often asked to be aware of eating seafood from the quieter restaurants and not to over indulge on the excellent inexpensive wines.
Do try the Spanish bars and Tapas as most of these are excellent.

ENTERTAINMENT
After you have spent a period of relaxation and you have recharged your
batteries you may feel that you want to do a little more than sunbathing,
playing golf on one of the numerous golf courses, sightseeing walking etc. etc,
well there are numerous activities you can embark on.
The areas can be like mini England in terms of expat club activities and can
range from bowls to tennis, cards to lonely hearts and dancing to sailing clubs
and the list goes on and on.

CLIMATE
Spain has the best climate in Europe and as many Brits have realised, that it
should not be just enjoyed for 2 weeks a year and with that in mind have taken the plunge and bought a home.
A relaxed lifestyle, a fantastic climate, and a lower cost of living, are
probably the three top reasons why so many are choosing to buy a place in
Spain. It is only 2-3 hours flight to the UK with all cheap operators
flying to numerous UK airports.

Due to the enormous size and geographical spread of Spain ranging from huge mountainous regions to desert and coastal resorts, it is not surprising that
there are large fluctuations in the weather. Within an hour’s journey one
can leave the snow bound ski resorts outside Granada, to be sun bathing on the beaches of the Costa del Sol.
As most of the UK expats tend to head to the warmer Southern regions, it is
here where we will concentrate our details.
Winters:
Much warmer than the UK averaging around 16c daytime and 7c at night.
Inland areas can vary on these figures. All areas are subject to short
but spectacular winter storms with heavy rainfall. The ground never stays
boggy and soon dries up. Temperatures on the Costa del Sol regularly
reach the mid twenties. Much of the plant & tree life remain in full
bloom. Sun rises around 8am and sets around 6.30pm giving longer sunlight
than in the UK.
Spring:
The onset of Spring brings a warmer more settled spell, with temperatures
averaging in the mid 20's. Many expats say this is the very best time of year - not too hot or cold.
Summer:
Come June the weather is very settled and becoming very hot. Mid summer
temperatures can top 40c and still be in the high 20's at night, although air
conditioning overcomes this problem. It is advisable to drink lots of
water to prevent dehydration.
Autumn:
Very similar to Spring but a little hotter. Swimming pools and the sea
tend to be very pleasant and provide relief from the temperature.

GOLF ON THE COSTA

Posting Date: Tue, Apr 12th, 2011 12:00:00 am

Golf on the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol has not been named the Costa del Golf without good reason, it is simply a golfers paradise, there are some 72 golf courses in Andalucia , of which 45 are situated along the Costa del Sol , four of those are ranked in the top 10 in Europe, add to that a fantastic all year round climate and you are most definitely in golfing heaven !!.

This concentration of quality courses along with an excellent warm and sunny climate has proven to be a must golfing winter destination to many thousands of northern Europeans each year.

Valderama was chosen for the Ryder cup in 1997 which ironically was almost washed out due to the heavy rains, however even the unusually wet weather couldn't dampen the atmosphere during those momentous days for the European team. And in 2007 the Valderrama Golf Club c
elebrated in style as the Volvo Masters commemorated its 20th anniversary, the longest-running single sponsorship in European golf.

Due largely to the success of the Ryder Cup, golf was taken to new levels on the Costa del Sol as it gained universal recognition and along with it came more quality courses which have been constructed to supply the ever increasing demand for Golf in southern Spain.
